1. Be willing to “talk up” when problems arise.

A majority of non-verbal communication mechanisms instructors employ in defining whether students have problems (frustration, confusion, boredom, absence, and others) are impossible in the provided online paradigm. In case a student experiences difficulty on a particular level (with the technology or course content), then he/she must communicate it at once. Otherwise his/her instructor will not know what go wrong.

2. Be willing as well as capable to commit to 4-15 hours for a week per course.
On the Internet is not much easier than traditional education. Actually, a great number of students will say this require more commitment and time.
